The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) Annual Meeting 2017was held in Baltimore, USA, 7th– 11th May 2017. Our faculty members, post-doc fellows and postgraduate students (Professor Calvin Pang, Professor Christopher Leung, Dr Kelvin Chong, Dr Jason Yam, Dr Michael Ng, Dr Wai Kit Chu, Dr Heather Mak, Dr Jasmine Yung, Ms Feihui Zheng, Mr Jian Li, Ms Malini Bakthavatsalam, Ms Xu Cao and Ms Yumeng Wang) presented talks and posters on their recent research.
Professor Calvin Pang
Prof Pang, our director of the CUHK Ophthalmic Research Centre, moderated the session “Chinese Ophthalmological Society Workshop: Molecular Cell Biology and Gene Therapy for Eye Diseases”. He was involved in the study for apresentationon “Genome-wide association study identifies a new genetic locus at 2q36.3 for polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy in East Asians: The GAMA consortium”. Prof Pang also presented aposter“Association of the SIX1-SIX6 Locus with Primary Open-angle Glaucoma in Chinese and Japanese”.

Prof Leung was invited to give anoralpresentationon his recent study “Virtual reality (VR) for measurement of visual disability in glaucoma patients”.
